Robert C. Brunk

Most Illustrious Grand Master Robert C. Brunk was born in Henderson, Texas in 1969 and is a Third Generation Texas York Rite Mason. Masonry is in his Family lineage. He is the youngest son of Barry Dean Brunk, Sr., a prominent Texas York Rite Mason who was born in Millwall, East London England in 1945.

Barry has served masonry in Texas through a multitude of honorable positions in York Rite and Appendant Bodies. Barry is a proud 50-year Member of the Grand Lodge of Texas. Barry was made a Master Mason in 1967 at Clinton Lodge #23 and served as Worshipful Master or other offices in the following Lodges: Stanfield # 217 (1972), Ennis #369 (1976 and 1978), Chambers Creek #499 (1994, 1995 and 2005), Bardwell #1054 (2014 and 2018), Ferris #460 (2019). Barry also served as DDGM for PGM Tom Land (1981) and PGM Fred Allen (1991), DEO (1990), DCO (1992). He is also a member of Ocean #230 and Phoenix #275. Barry is also a very active Companion and has served as PHP of Ennis Chapter #135 and PTIM of Ennis Council #81. He currently serves the Grand Chapter and Grand Council as a member of the Committee on Work (2018-2022) and has served as Grand Marshal of the Grand Chapter for Tom Snyder (2012). He received the Purple Service award in 2014 and the Golden Keystone Award in 2018. He is a Past Commander of Tancred Commandery #82. Barry is retired from Ennis Business Forms after 37 years of service as a CPA where he resided in Ennis, Texas from 1973 through 2020. He now resides with our Most Illustrious Grand Master and his wife in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Barry enjoys traveling with his son to many Masonic Meetings and is also a member of several appendant Masonic organizations (AMD, St. Thomas of Acon, SEM, Red Cross of Constantine, KYCH, Knights Preceptor, Order of High Priesthood, Order of the Silver Trowel, Shriners, KCCH with Scottish Rite, etc.)

The Grand Master’s mother Jajuana Joy Hudson (Deceased) was a Retired Nurse whose Great Grandfather was also a mason (James Allen Hudson) who relocated to East Texas from Upson County Georgia after the Civil War. It was said he had a limp from an injury during the war and carried a very unusual cane for walking.

Masonry is aligned with Family for our Most Illustrious Grand Master. His paternal grandfather was also a York Rite Mason who served as Worshipful Master in 1955 at Tyre #798 and a member of Clinton #23. He also was a Shriner, a Scottish Rite, Capitular and Cryptic Mason. Our Grand Master has several family members who have served in multiple Masonic offices and stations throughout Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. The Most Illustrious Grand Master is married to Sonia H. Brunk (Member of Waco Beauceant) for 23 wonderful and loving years. They have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Family is an important aspect of everyday life for our Grand Master and without Family, his life is not fulfilled. Family is intertwined with Masonry and is generational. His family enjoys seeing the regalia of our organizations and have expressed a desire to be part of our festivities and fellowship.

Our Most Illustrious Grand Master lived in Dallas and Denton from 1969-1973 and in Ennis, Texas from 1973 through 1988, graduating in 1987 from Ennis High School. He studied Music at Navarro College and then Sam Houston State University. He is a member of the Sigma Chi social fraternity at Sam Houston State. Our Most Illustrious Grand Master has worked in the Hospitality Industry for the last 34 years in various positions of Management and Consultation. He is currently employed with Choice Hotels International as Area Director Franchise Services.

Our Most Illustrious Grand Master has served in many capacities of Masonry. He has been embodied around Masonry for most of his life and was encouraged by those around him who were Masons.
