Joe Frederick Schriever

Companion Joe F. Schriever was born in San Angelo, Texas on October 23, 1949, the son of Rebecca and John Schriever. He attended public schools in Wall, Texas until graduation in 1968. He graduated from Texas A.&M. University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, at which time he was commissioned into the United States Air Force. Upon leaving active duty in 1975, he obtained Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration Degrees from Angelo State University. He moved to Austin in 1983 after his marriage to Leslie.

He was serving as an officer of the Tom Green County Fair Association at the time he moved to Austin. He has taught in Middle School, High School and University; and currently Chairs the Education and Training Committee of the Lower Colorado River Authority. As an information management professional, he is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and ad Certified Quality Analyst. He is currently a Senior E.D.P Auditor with the Lower Colorado River Authority.

MASONIC HISTORY

He was Raised a Master Mason in San Angelo Lodge No. 570, A.F.& A.M. in 1974. Took Dual Membership in Christoval Lodge No. 901, A.F. & A.M. and served as Master in 1982-83.

Exalted a Royal Arch Mason in San Angelo Chapter No. 170, R.A.M. on October 18, 1975. Served as High Priest in 1977-78 and was District Deputy Grand High Priest of District 34 in 1980 and 1983. Served as Grand Marshal of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas in 1981. Took Dual Membership in Lone Star Chapter No. 6, R.A.M. in 1983 after he moved to Austin.

Greeted in San Angelo Council No. 110, R.&S.M. on October 18, 1975, served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 1981-82 and is a Dual Member of Austin Council No. 2, R.&S.M. He served as Grand Chaplain of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas in 1980 and was appointed Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Hawaii near the Grand Council of Texas in 1986. He was elected Grand Principal Conductor of the Work in December 1985 and was elected Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas on December 8, 1987.

Knighted in San Angelo Commandery No. 28, K.T. in October 1975 and served as Commander of that body in 1981. Became a Dual Member of Colorado Commandery No. 4, K.T. in 1983.

He is a member of the Lubbock Scottish Rite Bodies and received the K.C.C.H. in 1985. Became a member of the Austin Scottish Rite Bodies in 1983.

He served as President of the Concho Shrine Club in 1978 and he participated as Chapter Dad during the rechartering of Concho Valley Chapter of the Order of the DeMolay.
