George E. Hulbert was born May 15, 1910, in Waterford, Wisconsin. He was Raised a Master Mason in Euclid Lodge No. 394, New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 22, 1933. Affiliated with University Lodge No. 1190 in Austin, Texas, in 1965, and served as Worshipful Master in 1970-1971. Served the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas as District Deputy Grand Master in 1974, and as Regional Coordinator for Grand Masters Regional Conference 1976-1978.

Exalted to the Sublime Degree of Royal Arch Mason in El Paso Chapter No. 157, on May 18, 1946. Affiliated with Lone Star Chapter No. 6, in Austin, Texas, in 1953, and served as High Priest in 1967-1968. Served the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas as District Deputy Grand High Priest of the Twenty-first Capitular District in 1969, and as Excellent Marshal in 1976. Received the Order of High Priesthood in 1968.

Greeted a Royal and Select Master in El Paso Council No. 98, on May 22, 1946. Affiliated with Austin Council No. 2, Austin, Texas, in 1953, and served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 1967-1968. Served the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas, as District Deputy Grand Master of the Twenty-first Cryptic District in 1970, and as Grand Marshal in 1972. He was appointed as Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Massachusetts near the Grand Council of Texas in 1975. He was elected Grand Principal Conductor of the Work in 1975, passed through the Chairs and was elected and installed as Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas, December 6, 1977, and served during the year 1978. Received the Order of the Silver Trowel in 1968.

Knighted in Colorado Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar, Austin, Texas on January 28, 1963. Served as Commander in 1968. He has served on various Committees of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Texas.

Received the Scottish Rite Degree, in 1964, in Austin Consistory. Served as Degree Master, 23rd Degree, and Assistant State Director. Served as Presiding Officer of Lodge, Council and Consistory. Member of Inspector General’s Advisory Conference and was Invested Knight Commander Court of Honour in 1973.

Member of St. Austin Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, served as Sovereign in 1976; York Rite College; Royal Order of Scotland, Knights of the York Cross of Honour; and Resurrection Tabernacle No. XXI, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests.

Member of Creedmoor Chapter No. 607, Order of the Eastern Star. He served as Worthy Patron in 1976-1977.

Member of Director’s Staff, Ben Hur Shrine Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S.

Recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honour.
