Clarence B. Haynes

Was born in the Willow Grove community of Bell County, Texas, August 22, 1894. Moved with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Haynes, to Chillicothe, Texas, 1898, where he has resided since that time. Attended the public schools of that community and graduated from Chillicothe High School.

Was married to Miss Mary Loylle Tabor of Quanah, Texas, September 25, 1932. They have two sons and three grandsons. He is a member of the First Methodist Church of Chillicothe.

Companion Haynes was raised a Master Mason in Chillicothe Lodge No. 876, A.F. & A.M., February 22, 1924. Served as Worshipful Master of Chillicothe Lodge No. 876 in 1933-34. Served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 90th Masonic District in 1936. Served as Grand Tiler, Grand Lodge of Texas in 1955. Holds a life certificate in the Esoteric Work.

Exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Chillicothe Chapter No. 319, R.A.M., October 27, 1927. Served as M:E: High Priest of Chillicothe Chapter No. 319 in 1938-39. Served as District Deputy Grand High Priest of the 28th Capitular District in 1960. Received the Order of High Priesthood in 1949. Holds a Certificate in the Esoteric Work of the Chapter.

Greeted a Select Master in Chillicothe Council No. 255 December 16, 1927. Served as Thrice Illustrious Master of Chillicothe Council No. 255 in 1942-43. Served as Grand Visitor of the 28th Cryptic District in 1944. Was appointed Grand Steward of the Grand Council, R.&S.M., in 1955 and again in 1961. Elected R:I: Grand Principal Conductor of the Work in 1964, advanced to R:I: Deputy Grand Master in 1965. Elected and installed M:I: Grand Master of the Grand Council, R.&S.M. of Texas, December 6, 1966, and presided at the Annual Assembly in December, 1967. Received the Order of The Silver Trowel in 1954, and holds a Certificate in the Esoteric Work. Member of the York Rite Esoteric Association of Texas.

Dubbed and Created a Knight Templar in Vernon Commandery No. 33 March 26, 1946. Served as Commander of Vernon Commandery No. 33 in 1964.

32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Member of Waco Consistory, Waco, Texas.

Member of Texas Priory No. 23, K.Y.C.H.

Charter member of The Star of Bethlehem Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, of Wichita Falls, Texas.
