Allie Solon Noble

Was born in the Preston Bend Community of Grayson County, about 15 miles north of Denison, Texas, on June 22, 1907. His birthplace is now covered up by Lake Texhoma. His Mother was born in the same area, and his Father was born in Weston, Collin County, Texas. His Father was a member of Denison Chapter No. 138, R.A.M., and Denison Council No. 83, R.&S.M., having taken the Chapter in 1903 and the Council in 1905. Judge Noble died in 1946. Mrs. Noble, now 95 years of age, resides in Sherman.

The Noble family moved to Sherman in 1913 and Allie was educated in the Sherman Public Schools, graduating in 1923. He received his A. B. Degree from Austin College in Sherman in 1927.

He is the Traffic Manager of Wyatt Food Stores, a division of The Kroger Company, at its distribution center in Irving, Texas. He is president of the company Credit Union and has been since its organization. He is a member of the Official Board of the White Rock Methodist Church.

Companion Noble was made a Master Mason in George R. Reeves Lodge No. 396 in Pottsboro, on November 24, 1928, serving as Worshipful Master in 1932. Later he moved his Lodge affiliation to Alexander C. Garrett Lodge No. 1216 in Dallas, and served as Worshipful Master of in 1943-44. He took his Chapter Degrees in A. C. Garrett Royal Arch Chapter No. 420 in 1929 and served as High Priest in 1937. He received his Council Degrees in Dallas Council No. 18, R.&S.M., on October 30, 1929, and served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 1943-44. He is a Charter member of A. C. Garrett Commandery No. 102, having been Knighted in Dallas Commandery No. 6 in 1944. He is a member of the Order of High Priesthood and the Order of the Silver Trowel. He is also a dual member of A. C. Garrett Council No. 382, R.&S.M.

He holds a life certificate of proficiency in the esoteric work of the Blue Lodge and the Royal Arch Chapter and lacks only 3 years having a life certificate in the Council.

In 1949 he served as Grand Visitor of the Grand Council for the Fifty-first Cryptic District, being appointed by the then M:I: Grand Master, Warren F. Merritt. In 1947 he was appointed Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Kentucky near the Grand Council of Texas and has been its Grand Representative ever since.

In 1963 he was elected R:I: Grand Principal Conductor of the Work, advanced to the office of R:I: Deputy Grand Master in 1964, and elected and installed M:I: Grand Master on November 30, 1065, and presided at the Annual Assembly in December, 1966.

In 1933, he married Marguerite Harrison of Dallas. They have two daughters, Mrs. H. G. Smith, of Houston, and Mrs. L. B. Houston, Jr., of Dallas, and three grandchildren.
