Edward Wyllys Taylor was a New England transplant to northeastern Texas, originally hailing from Deerfield, MA.
Edward Taylor was the first president of the Houston School Board, and was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Taylor served in later years as president of the Houston Cotton Exchange and Board of Trade.
