Jackie Wayne Matthews

Jackie Wayne Matthews was born to Joseph and Karen Matthews on September 5, 1959 in Seminole, Texas. Jackie was raised in west Texas and went to school in Odessa, Texas. He has five children and seven grandchildren. Jackie is retired and now lives on Lake Whitney.

On June 8, 1995, Jackie was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Midland Lodge 623, where he is an endowed member. He is also an endowed member of Midland Acacia Lodge 1414, Midland Centennial Lodge 1448 and Milam Lodge 11 in Lamesa, Texas. Jackie served as Worshipful Master of Midland Lodge 623 from 2001-2002, Midland Acacia Lodge 1414 from 2007-2008, and Midland Centennial Lodge 1448 from 2008-2009 and 2014-2015. Jackie was honored by Midland Lodge 623 as the recipient of the Golden Trowel Award in 2008. He also served as District Deputy Grand Master of District 81 in 2007.

In 1998, Jackie was Exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Keystone Chapter 172 and served as High Priest in 2001, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2016. In 2005, he received the Order of High Priesthood, and served as District Grand High Priest for District 33 in 2010 and District 30 in 2013. He also served on the Grand Royal Arch Chapters Membership Committee for District 9. In 2015, Very Excellent C. Steve Wolfe, PGHP, appointed Jackie as Grand Representative of the Grand Chapter of New York. Jackie was also elected Right Excellent Grand Scribe in 2014, Right Excellent Grand King in 2015, Right Excellent Deputy Grand High Priest in 2016 and Most Excellent Grand High Priest in 2017.

Jackie was Greeted in Keystone Council 112 as a Royal and Select Master in 1998 and served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 2001, 2008, 2009, 2015 and 2016. There, he also received the Order of the Silver Trowel in 2005. Jackie served as District Deputy Grand Master of the Council for District 33 in 2011 and District 30 in 2013. He received the Super Excellent Master in 2016. He was elected to Right Illustrious Principal Conductor of the Work in 2018, Right Illustrious Deputy Grand Master of the Most Illustrious Grand Council of Royal and Select Master of Texas in 2019

From 2014-2015, Jackie served as President of the Texas York Rite Esoteric Association.

Jackie was Knighted as a Knight Templar in Midland Commandery No. 84 and has served as Commander of the Commandery in 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016. He has also served on the Grand Commandery of Texass Membership Committee for District 9 and served on the Grand Commanderys Public Relations and Special Project Committee. Jackie is a member of the Sovereign Order of the Knight Preceptor and is He is also in the progressive line of the Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest, Nazareth Tabernacle XXXIV.

Jackie is a member of both the Lubbock Scottish Rite and the El Paso Scottish Rite, where he was honored with the Knight Commander Cross of Honor in 2011. He has served and continues to serve the Board of Directors for West Texas Learning Center in Lubbock. Jackie is also a member of Suez Shrine, AMD, Knight Mason, York Rite College, The Red Cross of Constantine, The Royal Order of Scotland, St. Thomas of Acon, The Masonic Order of Athelstan and the Operative and is the DGMM for the USAM Region. He also is a member of Pilgrim Preceptors and serves as Assistant Grand Marshal.
