Reese L. Harrison, Jr.

Most Illustrious Grand Master Reese L. Harrison, Jr., was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 5, 1938 and is the son of Reese L. Harrison, who was a 60-Year Member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge No. 1169, and Ruth Leona Fischer Harrison, whose father Albert Fischer was a member of Alamo Masonic Lodge No. 44. His father was a forty-year employee of Friedrich Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Company, Inc., and was its President and Treasurer at the time of his retirement. He was raised on a farm and ranch in Caldwell County, Texas. His father lived on the Bar H Ranch in Bexar County, Texas, and considered himself a cowboy and a good ranch roper. His father was a Knight Companion of the Red Cross of Constantine and a Knight of the Royal Order of Scotland. His mother graduated from Brackenridge High School in the San Antonio Independent School District and was the Valedictorian and Secretary of her senior class in high school. She was an executive secretary in Friedrich Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Company initially and later was a bank executive secretary in the Groos National Bank, which was the oldest bank in San Antonio, and her avocation was being a creative writer, particularly in poetry, which was inherited by her granddaughter Scottie but not by her son Reese Jr. She treasured a congratulatory letter and gift for her high school graduation that she received from Nathan Kimball Tracy, a Past Grand Commander of Knights Templar of Texas, and a close friend and coworker of her father Albert Fischer. His late sister, Janice Lee Harrison Tipton also is a graduate of both Brackenridge High School in San Antonio and of Baylor University. Reese Jr, his sister Janice Lee and their Mother Ruth all auditioned and won leading roles in the Senior Play of Brackenridge High School when each were graduating Seniors. His mother Ruth and his sister Janice Lee both won leading roles in the play "Dear Ruth" while he starred as the Defense Attorney in the play "The Night of January 16th" a courthouse trial drama with members of the audience selected as the twelve jurors. The play has two endings, a guilty verdict and a not guilty verdict, as determined by the jury and the actors have to be prepared to continue the play without prior knowledge of how the play is to end.

Most Illustrious Harrison graduated from Brackenridge High School in the San Antonio Independent School District in 1956. He graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in less than three years in 1959 and with a Master of Science in Economics in 1965, attaining membership in Beta Gamma Sigma in the upper ten percent of his class and was admitted to Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society in Economics, and to Alpha Epsilon Rho Honor Fraternity in Radio and Television. While he was in college he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha social fraternity and the infamous NOZE Brotherhood social fraternity at Baylor University. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Juris Doctor Degree and was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.

He is married to the former Judith Karen Scott and they have two daughters, Judith Karen Scott Harrison, Jr., and Tiffany Farrah Lynn Harrison. His wife Judith Karen is a Past Sweetheart of both Albert Pike Chapter No. 58 Order of DeMolay and of Albert Pike Priory No. 38 DeMolay Order of Knighthood, is a Majority Member of San Antonio Assembly No. 3 Order of Rainbow for Girls, and is a former Miss Fiesta of the Fiesta San Jacinto Association in San Antonio. Judy is a graduate of Incarnate Word University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and of San Antonio College with an Associate Degree as a Lawyer's or Legal Assistant. She was employed as a legal assistant to expert witnesses who are both physicians and engineers in the field of biodynamics. Previously she taught Vocational Home Economics in the public schools. Judy's mother Juanita was a Past Mother Advisor of San Antonio Assembly No. 3 Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Judy Jr. (better known as Scottie) is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Journalism and a Master of Science in Communications. Scottie is married to Dr. Jared Michael Brown whom she met at Colorado State University where they were in the same graduating class. Jared received a Doctors Degree from the University of Montana on May 15, 2004. Scottie and Jared are the proud parents of the Grand Master's grandson Hadyn William Brown and granddaughter Katherine Poppy Brown.

Tiffany graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Tulane University and a Master of Finance (MFN) degree from Tulane University. Tiffany is a Past Sweetheart of Albert Pike Priory No. 38 DeMolay Order of Knighthood and is a Past State Sweetheart of the Texas DeMolay Order of Knighthood.

The Grand Master's daughters are Majority Members of the International Order of Job's Daughters and of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Judy Jr. and Tiffany are Past Worthy Advisors of San Antonio Assembly No. 3 and were awarded the Grand Cross of Color Degree in 1991. Tiffany is a Past Grand Worthy Advisor of the Grand Assembly of Texas, IORG. Their great aunt Tomye Hazel Hall Fischer was a Charter Officer and Member of San Antonio Assembly No. 3 when instituted on November 4, 1922. Both daughters are Charter Members of San Antonio Bethel No. 1 IOJD. Judy Jr. is a Past Honored Queen and Tiffany served as an officer in Bethel No. 1 IOJD. They were initiated into Oklahoma City Bethel No. 2 and are Majority Members of both Bethels.

Both Judy Jr. (Scottie) and Tiffany are Endowed Members of Texas Chapter No. 35 Order of the Eastern Star and of Houston Court No. 2 Order of the Amaranth. Scottie and Tiffany are also members of Nekodah Temple No. 44 Daughters of The Nile, Altrui Court No. 89 Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, and Omala Caldron No. 99 Daughters of Mokanna, all in San Antonio. Tiffany is a Charter Member of Cross of Texas Shrine No. 1 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Houston and Scottie is a member of Galilee White Shrine No. 13 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Tiffany is a member of Houston Assembly No. 81 of the Social Order of the Beauceant.

The Grand Master's wife Judy is a member of the same Orders in which Tiffany is a member except that Judy is a member of Adah Chapter No. 49 Order of the Eastern Star and San Antonio Assembly No. 159 Social Order of the Beauceant and also is a Charter Member of the Daughters of Mokanna, Amaranth and White Shrine.

Grand Master Harrison was admitted to the practice of law in September 1962 and was appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Department of Justice in the Western District of Texas, serving from 1964 through 1972 and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in 1972-1973. He entered the private practice of law as a partner in the law firm of Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison and Tate, Inc. in 1972, and is a fomer Chief Executive Officer of the law firm, and is a former Chairman of the Litigation Department. The Oppenheimer Harrison law firm merged with the Dallas-based Strasburger Price law firm effective October 1, 2011, and Strasburger merged with Detroit based law firm Clark Hill effective April 2018.

He is Board Certified in the field of Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Trial Advocacy being board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy and in Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy. He is a Fellow in Litigation Counsel of America, a Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, and in the Academy of Antitrust Law. He has been certificated by the University of Houston Law Center as a Mediator. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law in the Master of Laws program in International Law at the St. Mary"s University School of Law. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America beginning in 1987 and is listed currently in the fields of Business Litigation, White Collar Criminal Defense, and Antitrust litigation. From 2003 through 2011, Texas Monthly Magazine in its magazine "Texas Super Lawyers" named the Grand Master a Super Lawyer in Business Litigation or in White Collar Criminal Defense, or both. He was honored in recognition of valuable and meritorious service to the community, state and nation as a member of the Bar for more than fifty years 1962-2012.

Grand Master Harrison is a frequent lecturer at Continuing Legal Education Courses, Institutes and Seminars in the specialties of Civil Trial Law, Antitrust Law, Federal Criminal Law, Federal Civil Procedure, and Military Law. He is active in numerous Bar Associations and Trial Lawyer's Associations, having served as President of some of the Associations, as Chairman of Committees and Councils in a number of these Associations, and on numerous committees of same. He is a Past President of the San Antonio Alumni Chapter of the Lambda Chi Alpha Social Fraternity and the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and is a Life Fellow of the San Antonio, the Texas and the American Bar Foundations and is a Fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas.

He is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of the United States, and in all Article III and Article I Courts of the United States.

Reese L. Harrison, Jr., Colonel, USAF Retired, was awarded a brevet promotion to the rank of Brigadier General on September 1, 2004, in the Texas Air National Guard. Brigadier General Harrison was State Judge Advocate of the Texas Air National Guard and was assigned to the Judge Advocate General's Department Reserve with the United States Air Force and was a Military Judge in the Texas Air National Guard beginning in 1972. He received the Major General Paul D. Straw Trophy in 1991 as the Airman who best exemplified overall unit excellence and outstanding civic participation and in recognition of superior contribution to the community and to the nation. He retired from the Texas Air National Guard and the United States Air Force in 1998 with almost 35 years of military service. He has been active in a variety of military and veterans organizations. On April 1, 2006, Brigadier General Harrison was inducted into the Texas National Guard Hall of Honor which is the highest form of recognition and tribute that a member of the Texas Military Forces can achieve. Members of this elite group have performed exceptionally meritorious service and made significant contributions of a lasting nature to those who serve in the Texas Army and Air National Guard and to the Adjutant General"s Department.

He was selected the Outstanding Young Man in San Antonio for 1973, receiving the Distinguished Service Award from the San Antonio Junior Chamber of Commerce of which he was not a member. He has been listed in Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in Law and the Social Directory of San Antonio. He is a Life Director of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and Rodeo, is a former Vice President of the San Antonio Charity Horse Show, and is a Director of the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant among many other civic activities too numerous to mention.

In addition to being a lawyer, Grand Master Harrison is a business economist and has been granted membership in the American Economics Association, the National Association of Business Economists, the Society of Government Economists and the San Antonio Economics Society, has been a lecturer on antitrust economics and on economic damage measurements, and has served on a number of Committees of these Associations.

Grand Master Harrison operates the Bar H Ranches Partnership, Ltd., a cattle ranch in Bexar, Wilson, and Caldwell Counties in Texas. One of his cattle brands is O2, which has been in his family since the Civil War. He has been honored with membership in a number of National College Fraternities and Societies, including social, professional, honorary, and leadership. He has also been honored with membership in various social organizations in San Antonio. He and his family are members of Trinity Baptist Church, where he served on the legal committee. He is a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He has held a number of leadership positions in the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Alamo Area Council of Governments. He served as General Counsel to the General Investigating Committee and to the Ethics Committee of the Texas House of Representatives for the Biennium 1983-1984. He is active in the Democratic Party at the County, State and National levels. Judy and Reese live with Cody and Cash, Shetland Sheepdogs.

Past Grand Master of DeMolay International Harrison was initiated into Albert Pike Chapter No. 58 Order of DeMolay in San Antonio, Texas on January 25, 1954, at the age of sixteen. He is a Past Master Councilor of Albert Pike Chapter No. 58, serving in 1955 and a Past Chapter Advisor of Albert Pike Chapter No. 58, serving in 1964-1965, 1978-1988 and 2006-2007, and was Chairman of the Advisory Council of Albert Pike Chapter No. 58 from 1978-2016. He is a Past State Scribe of Texas DeMolay, serving 12 consecutive years. He has been awarded the Representative DeMolay Award, the Blue Honor Key (four times), the White Honor Key (twice), the Zerubbabel Key (three times), and the Advisors Honor Key (six times). He was the Charter Treasurer of San Antonio Chapter No. 3591 for three years. His uncle Wilfred Albert Fischer was initiated as a charter member when Albert Pike Chapter No. 58 was instituted on June 30, 1921, and was a DeMolay for 85 years and 130 days at the time of his death on November 7, 2006 – possibly, the longest-serving DeMolay in the history of DeMolay International.

Sir Knight Harrison is a Past Illustrious Knight Commander of Albert Pike Priory No. 38, a Past Priory Advisor, a Charter Member and Past Illustrious Knight Commander of Waco Priory No. 111 DeMolay Order of Knighthood, and is a Past State Illustrious Knight Commander of the Texas State Priory of Knighthood. He is a Past State Registrar of the Texas State Priory, serving an unprecedented 12 consecutive years.

He was invested with the Degree of Chevalier at the age of 19 and is a Past Commander of the San Antonio Chevalier Court and of the Central Texas Chevalier Court, and from 1975 to 2007 was the Commander of the Albert Pike Court of Chevaliers, and was the Chevaliar Court Advisor in 2017, and is a Past State Commander of the Texas State Chevalier Court.

He was invested with the DeMolay Legion of Honor at the age of 23 and from 1972 to 2007 was the Dean of Albert Pike Preceptory Legion of Honor.

He was awarded the DeMolay International Grand Cross in 2002, the DeMolay Cross of Honor in 1970, the Guild of the Leather Apron Award for Advisor of the Year in Texas in 1964, and the Medal of Appreciation from Albert Pike Chapter No. 58 in 1965 and Knighthood Priory No. 117 in 1959 at the minimum age of 21. He was named a Frank S. Land Fellow in 2002.

He was elected a Deputy of the International Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay in 1972 and as an Active Member in 1974 being the fourth Senior DeMolay from Texas to be elected as an Active Member of the Supreme Council. He is a Past Grand Master of DeMolay International, serving 1982-1983. At the time of his election and installation he was the second youngest Grand Master of DeMolay International in the history of the Order, being 44 years of age. He later served as Grand Orator of the Supreme Council during the 75th Anniversary of the Order in 1993-1994 and again in 2001-2002 and was the Region Representative on the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council for 1993-1995. He is a Past Executive Officer of Texas DeMolay, serving 1988-1996.

Right Worshipful Past Grand Master Harrison was Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Texas for the year 2004. He entered Freemasonry at the age of 21 in 1959 and is a Past Master (1969-1970) of and was awarded Life Membership in Albert Pike Masonic Lodge No. 1169 in San Antonio, Texas and was Secretary for three years and was Treasurer for seventeen years. He received the Lodge's first Golden Trowel Award in 1990. He is a Past President of the Masters, Wardens and Secretaries Association of the 31998-2016 9th Masonic Districts of San Antonio, Texas (1968). He is a Past District Deputy Grand Master in the 39th Masonic Districts in San Antonio (1982), a Past Grand Orator of the Grand Lodge (1987) and served as Chairman of the Jurisprudence Committee, the Civil Law Committee, the Youth Activities Committee, the Fraternal Relations Committee and the Sesquicentennial Commission and Executive Committee of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He is Grand Representative of the United Grand Lodge of England near Texas. In December 2015 he was awarded the Sam Houston Medal by the Grand Lodge of Texas. In January 2019, he was named a Fellow in Masonic Research by the Grand Lodge of Texas.

On May 10, 1982, he was awarded the Henry Price Medal by the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, and on April 5, 1983 he was awarded the Pierpont Edwards Medal in Bronze by the Grand Lodge of Connecticut. He was awarded a Life Membership in Alamo Masonic Lodge No. 44 in 2003 and is an Endowed Member of both Albert Pike Masonic Lodge No. 1169 and of Holland Masonic Lodge No. 1. He is a Full (Active) Member, Endowed Member, the author of five research papers, and a Past Master of the Texas Lodge of Research (2013-2014). He is also a Past Master of both DeMolay Masonic Lodge No. 199 (2010-2011) and Cibolo Masonic Lodge No. 151 (2004-2005).

In the York Rite of Freemasonry, Very Excellent and Most Illustrious Companion and Sir Knight Harrison was Exalted in San Antonio Chapter No. 381 Royal Arch Masons in 1959, Greeted in San Antonio Council No. 14 Royal and Select Masters in 1960, and Knighted in San Antonio Commandery No. 7 Knights Templar in 1960. Companion and Sir Knight Harrison is a Past High Priest of San Antonio Chapter No. 381 Royal Arch Masons (1969-1970) and was Treasurer for forty years (1970-2011), a Past Thrice Illustrious Master of San Antonio Council No. 14 Royal and Select Masters (1969-1970) and was Treasurer for forty years (1970-2011), and a Past Commander of San Antonio Commandery No. 7 Knights Templar (1974) and was the Treasurer from 1998-2016; and was elected Treasurer Emeritus in November 2016. Companion Harrison has been awarded Life Membership in both the Chapter and the Council in 1970.

Very Excellent Companion Harrison was the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas (2013-2014), and a Past District Deputy Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas (1971), Grand Orator twice (1972 and 1997) and Grand Captain of the Host of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas (1973).

Most Illustrious Companion Harrison is the Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas (2017-2018) and a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas (twice: 1971 and 1974). He was the Grand Conductor of the Council (2010) and the Grand Steward (2007) of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas.

Most Illustrious Companion Harrison was awarded life membership on December 7th, 2018 in the General Grand Council Royal and Select Masters International and was appointed General Grand Barrister of same for the remainder of the Triennium 2017-2020.

He was Grand Representative of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of the Netherlands near Texas from 1973-2014, and since 2014 is the Grand Representative of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Indiana near Texas, Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of the District of Columbia near Texas since 1979, and Grand Representative of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of North Carolina near Texas since August 16, 2004.

In 1992, Sir Knight Harrison was one of only 8 Knights Templar in Texas to be initially Constituted Knight Commander of the Temple by the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar which later Constituted him Knight Grand Cross of the Temple in 1999 and awarded him the Knight Templar Cross of Honor in 2001. Sir Knight Harrison was Aide de Camp to the Deputy Grand Master of Knights Templar for the United States of America in the Triennium 2000-2003.

Most Illustrious and Very Excellent Companion and Sir Knight Harrison is a Dual Life Member of the Monroe, North Carolina, York Rite Bodies. Companion Harrison is a Dual Member of Mt. Ararat Chapter No. 3, Royal Arch Masons of North Carolina, and of Roanoke Council No. 1, Royal and Select Masters of North Carolina. Companion and Sir Knight Harrison has been awarded Honorary Membership in the Salisbury, North Carolina, York Rite Bodies on March 1, 1999, and is an Honorary Member of Helotes Council No. 362 Royal and Select Masters (Texas).

In the Chair Degrees of the York Rite of Freemasonry Companion and Sir Knight Harrison is a Past Grand High Priest of the Order of High Priesthood of Texas (1987) and is its Treasurer since 2009, a Past Thrice Illustrious Master of the Order of the Silver Trowel of Texas (1976) and its Treasurer since 2009, a Past Eminent Preceptor of Texas Chapter of the Order of Knights Preceptor (2000-2001), Past Sovereign Grand Preceptor of the Grand Chapter of the Order of Knights Preceptor (August 1, 2003-February 8, 2007) and is Grand Treasurer since 2017, and was inducted a Knight Crusader of the Cross under the jurisdiction of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of North Carolina.

Most Preeminently Distinguished Companion Knight Harrison is a Most Preeminently Distinguished Past Governor General of the York Rite Sovereign College of North America for the biennium 1998-2000 and is the present Right Eminently Distinguished Treasurer-General since July 2010. He was invited in 1969 to membership in the York Rite College by Texas York Rite College No. 14 and is a Past Governor (2002-2003), and is the Charter Past Governor of Texian York Rite College No. 60 (1977, 1977-1978). He was awarded the Order of the Purple Cross of York in 1977 with his election as an Associate Regent of the York Rite Sovereign College of North America and was elected a Regent of the Sovereign College in 1981. The Sovereign College Proclaimed him Knight Commander of the Purple Cross in 1998 and Knight Grand Cross of York in 1999. He has been awarded Honorary Membership in Colleges Nos. 78, 106, 110, 111, 119, 130, 131, 148, 150, 159, 172, and 183. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Sovereign College from 1985 through 1994 (nine terms, appointed by four Governors General).

Most Eminent Knight Harrison is a Most Eminent Past Grand Master General of the Convent General of Knights of the York Cross of Honour, and is Grand Treasurer General since 2017. He was Received in the Knight York Cross of Honour by Texas Priory No. 23 in 1975 and is a Past Prior (1993) and is the Charter Past Prior of Texian Priory No. 78 (1994-1995). He was awarded the Knight York Grand Cross of Honour with One Quadrant on December 7, 2003, a second Quadrant on October 22nd 2013, and a third Quadrant on December 9, 2017, and the Knight Grand Cross on September 11, 2004.

Most Eminent Knight Priest Harrison is a Most Eminent Past Grand Preceptor of the Grand College of America Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests (2018-2019). He was invited to membership in the Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests in 1984, is a Past Preceptor of Nazareth Tabernacle No. XXXIV (1994), was Coroneted with the Rank and Decoration of Knight Commander on February 18, 1994, with the Rank and Decoration of Knight Grand Commander Honoris Causis of the Chapter General of the Order on February 11, 2005, and with the Rank and Decoration of Knight Grand Commander of the Chapter General of the Order on February 9, 2018, and was awarded the Grand Cross on February 9, 2018. He is a Permanent Member of Grand Preceptor's Tabernacle since 2018.

Illustrious Brother Harrison was initiated to the 32 in 1959 in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and is a Past Venerable Master of San Antonio Lodge of Perfection (1978), a Past Wise Master of San Antonio Chapter Knights Rose Croix (1981), a Past Commander of San Antonio Council Knights of Kadosh (1972), and a Past Venerable Master of Kadosh of San Antonio Consistory (1981). He was elected President of his Scottish Rite Class in 1959, invested with the Rank and Decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 1971, was Coroneted a 33° Inspector General in 1979 and invested with the Rank and Decoration of Grand Cross of the Court of Honour in 2013. He is a Past Personal Representative of the Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Texas for the Valley of San Antonio and is a Past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the four San Antonio Scottish Rite Bodies and the Rio Grande Lodge of Perfection in Weslaco, Texas (August 2002-September 2015), and is now Emeritus in both positions. He is a member of Greenhead Flight No. 5 Royal Order of the Duck and an Emeritus Member of the Knights of St. Andrew.

In Shrinedom Illustrious Noble Harrison was Created a Noble in Alzafar Temple at the age of 21 in 1959 and at that time was the youngest Shriner ever initiated in North America. He is a Past Potentate of Alzafar Temple (1979) and is an Emeritus Representative to the Imperial Council of the Shrine of North America having been elected fifteen times. He is an Emeritus Member of the Imperial Council Standing Committee on Grievances and Appeals having served seventeen terms as an active member of the Committee. He has been awarded life membership in Alzafar Shrine Temple and has been awarded honorary life membership in 61 Shrine Temples. He was invited to membership in the Royal Order of Jesters and is a Past Director (1987) of San Antonio Court No. 60, and is an Emeritus Royal Representative to the National Court of the Royal Order of Jesters, having been elected fifteen consecutive times. He was awarded Honorary Membership in Los Angeles Court No. 84 on June 30, 1986. In January 1980 he was invited into the Cabiri International Past Potentates Association and is a Past President (1985) of San Antonio Chapter No. 98. He is a Past International President of the Cabiri serving in 1985-1986. He was invited to membership in the Order of Quetzalcoatl and is a Past Camaxtli of Alamo de Aztlan Teocalli No. 1836 (2000). He received the Master Artisan degree and was Consecrated into the Order of Knights, Eagles and Tigers in 2000 and was the President of the OKET's in San Antonio in 2002, 2003, 2004 and in 2005.

In the Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm Prophet Harrison is a Past Monarch of Omala Grotto (1979) and is a Past Zone Director of the Grotto fifteen terms from 1980 to 1994. He was awarded Honorary Life Membership in Chinar Grotto on January 26, 2004.

Brigadier General Harrison is a Past President of Fort Sam Houston Chapter No. 17 National Sojourners (1971-1972), and is a Past Area Representative for Texas and Oklahoma serving four years (1974-1978), was elected to the Committee of 33, and was a charter invitee into the Royal Order of Barrow Wheelers in 1974. He was invited into the Heroes of `76 of National Sojourners in 1967 and is a Past Commander of Alamo Camp (1977-1978). Most Illustrious Knight Companion Harrison is a Most Illustrious Past Grand Sovereign of the United Grand Imperial Council of the Order of the Red Cross of Constantine (2006-2007). He was Installed in St. Anthony Conclave No. 50 in 1972 and is a Past Sovereign (1981) and the Treasurer since 1988, and is a Past Intendant General for the Division of Texas Southern (1986-2001). He was awarded the Order of Knight Commander of Constantine in 1998 and the Knight Grand Cross in 2006. He is Grand Representative of the Grand Imperial Conclave of Queensland near the United Grand Imperial Council of the United States of America since 2016.

Most Excellent Sir Knight and Cousin Harrison is a Most Excellent Past Great Chief of the Grand Council of Knight Masons of the United States of America (1996). He was Installed in Great Chiefs Council No. 0 in 1976 and is a Past Excellent Chief (1986), and the Charter Past Excellent Chief of Texas Council No. 45 in 1992. Most Excellent Sir Knight Harrison is Grand Representative of the Knight Mason Degrees of Scotland near the United States of America and is Past Grand Senior Knight of the Grand Council of Knight Masons in Ireland. He was awarded Honorary Membership in Celtic Council No. 25 in New York City on April 18, 1986; in Brian Boru Council No. 38 in Los Angeles on March 17, 1991; and in Connemara Council No. 39 in Vacaville, California, on March 30, 1996.

Most Venerable Brother Harrison is a Most Venerable Past Sovereign Grand Master of the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees of the United States of America and is a Most Worthy Past Grand Supreme Ruler of the Grand Conclave of the Order of the Secret Monitor in the United States of America (1999) and is a Most Distinguished Past Grand Summus (2009) of the Royal Order of the Masonic Knights of the Scarlet Cord (formerly appended to the Order of the Secret Monitor). He was invited into Grand Masters Council No. A in 1976 and is a Permanent Member. He is a Past Sovereign Master of San Antonio Council No. 261 (1992, 2018, 2019) and of Texas Council No. 335 (1995, 1996). The Grand Council awarded him the Red Branch of Eri in 1990, the Knight Commander of the Red Branch of Eri and Knight Grand Cross and Knight Supreme Grand Cross of the Red Branch of Eri on February 12, 2005, the Knight Grand Cross in 1999 and the Marvin Edward Fowler Award in 2003. The Grand Council of France awarded him the Knight Grand Cross in 2000. He is a Past Senior Grand Warden of the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees of Canada and is the Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees of England and Wales near the United States of America. Most Venerable Brother Harrison was invited to be Member Number 40 in Nine Muses Council No. 13 which is limited to nine AMD members and is a Past Sovereign Master, serving in 2008, and again in 2015, and is currently the Permanent Secretary and the Senior Deacon. He was awarded Honorary Membership in Mecca Council No. 76 of North Carolina. He has been a member of Ye Ancient Order of Corks since 1976, which is included in the Allied Masonic Degrees.

Most Illustrious Brother Harrison is a Most Illustrious Past Grand Chancellor of the Grand College of Rites and was admitted as a Fellow in 1976 and was awarded the Knight Grand Cross in 2000.

Most Reverend Knight Harrison is a Most Reverend Past Great Prior of the Great Priory of America Rectified Scottish Rite Chevaliers Bienfaisants de la Cite Sainte (1998) and was the Very Reverend Great Chancellor from 2001-2015. He was Knighted in the West Prefecture in 1981 and is a Past Prefect (three times). He was awarded the Knight Grand Cross in 1998, and is the Senior living Reverend Knight of the Great Priory.

Right Worthy Frater Harrison was invited into membership in Masonic Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis in 1977 and advanced to the IX Grade of the Society, was Chief Adept of Texas College from November 2, 1992, to February 8, 2007, serving sixteen years, and is a Past Preceptor of the High Council of the Society since February 2008. He was a Past Celebrant of Texas College serving from 1982 to 1992. He was Constituted a Knight Grand Cross in 1999.

Grand Master Harrison has been awarded the Grand Cross of Color from the Order of Rainbow (1975) and is a Past Chairman of the Advisory Board of San Antonio Assembly No. 3 (1975) and was its Vice Chairman from 2000-2009, a period of 10 years.

He is the Charter Past Associate Bethel Guardian of San Antonio Bethel No. 1 of Job's Daughters and is a Past Assisting Supreme Deputy to Texas, serving in both positions for 3-1/2 years (1990-1994). He was the Provisional Associate Jurisdictional Guardian from November 1994 to October 1995, and was the Charter Associate Jurisdictional Guardian from October 1995 to November 1997 of the Texas Jurisdictional Guardian Council and is a Member of Honor of Houston Bethel No. 2.

Most Honorable Knight Harrison is a Most Honorable Past Commander General of the Masonic Order of the Bath of the United States of America, serving from July 11, 2003 to February 9, 2007. He was Knighted in the Order in 1976, and is the Right Honorable Keeper of the Bath Keys since 2011.

Most Worthy Knight Harrison is a Most Worthy Past Grand Master of the Order of Acon for the United States of America in 2016, and Right Worthy Past Grand Preceptor of the Order of Acon for the Province of the United States of America under English Constitution from 2011-2015. He is a Past Worthy Master and a Charter Member of Trinity Chapel No. 2 of the Order of St. Thomas of Acon and was Knighted in Blackheethe Chapel Time Immemorial in the United Kingdom on October 23, 1999. He is the Primus Master of Dr. George M. Patrick Chapel No. 4 for 2005-2006, the Shute Chapel No. 8 for 2006 and the Texas Chapel No. 9 for 2006-2007. He was awarded Knight Caritas in 2012 and Knight Humiltas in 2015 by the Grand Masters Council in England.

In the "Operatives" Right Worshipful Brother Harrison was exalted to the VII° September 5, 2013. He is a Founding Member and the Founding Deputy J in the Texas State Capitol Assemblage No. 90, set to work February 16, 2010. He was the Deputy Master Mason of Texas State Capitol Assemblage for 2011-2012 and again for 2017-2018. He was admitted to the Worshipful Society of the "Operatives" in St. Lawrence Seaway Assemblage No. 51 in 1999.

He is a Founding Fellow of the Masonic Society (2009), and was a Life Member of the Philalethes Society.

Sir Reese L. Harrison, Jr. was invited into the Royal Order of Scotland in September 1967, and is a fifty year member and a Life Member. He is a Substitute Provincial Grand Master of the Royal Order of Scotland, and is the Chairman of the Order in Texas.

He is a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Ohio; and the Sciots, in Long Beach, California.

He was invited into the Masonic Order of Athelstan in Monroe, North Carolina, in 2011 and is a Right Worshipful Past Senior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of the Order Situate in England. In February 2019, he was awarded the Order of The Scarlet Cord. He was invited into the August Order of Light in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 2013. He was invited into the Order of Pilgrim Preceptors into St. Andrews Conclave Time Immemorial in England on February 2, 2019.

He was awarded honorary membership in Ruben Marquez Romo Lodge No. 35, Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, October 29, 1983, in the A.J.E.F. (Association of Young Men Seeking the Fraternity).
