Masonic History

Glen was raised a Master Mason in Stamford Lodge No. 853 on December 10, 1971. He has served as Worshipful Master in 1975-76, in 1981-82, and 1987-88, and as Secretary for 17 years. He served as District Deputy Grand Master of District No. 75 in 1988. Glen received the Golden Trowel Award on July 17, 2003.

He was exalted to the sublime Degree of Royal Arch Mason in Stamford Chapter No. 257 serving as High Priest in 1973-74, in 1983-84, and 1986-87. Stamford Chapter merged with Hamlin Chapter No. 310 and Glen served as High Priest in 1999-2000. He served as District Deputy Grand High Priest of Capitular District No. 30 in 1984 and 1998. He received the Order of High Priesthood in 1983. Glen received the Cornerstone Award from Hamlin Chapter No. 310 on March 26, 2005.

He was appointed Grand Representative of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Maine near the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas in 2000.

Glen was greeted a Royal and Select Master in Stamford Council No. 192 in 1972. He served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 1973-74, 1982-83, and 1983-84. He received the Order of the Silver Trowel in 1983. He received the Super Excellent Masters Degree in 1972. He was appointed District Deputy Grand Master of Cryptic District No. 30 in 1981. He was awarded the Cryptic Triangle Award in 2006.

Glen was knighted a Knight Templar in Stamford Commandery No. 75 in 1972. He was a candidate for the official visitation in 1972 and was elected and served as Commander the following year in 1973. He is a Knight Templar Eye Foundation Life Sponsor and a member of the Grand Masters Club of the Knight Templar Eye Foundation.

He is a plural member of Sweetwater Commandery No. 89 and of Abilene Commandery No. 27. He was appointed the Grand Representative of the Grand Commandery of Missouri near the Grand Commandery of Texas in 1998.

He became a member of the Knight York Cross of Honor in Texas Priory No. 23 in 1979. Glen was a Charter Member of the 1996 class of Knights Preceptor and served at Very Eminent Preceptor in 2004-2005. Glen served as a member of the Knight Templar Instruction Committee from District Seven from 1990 to 1996.

Glen was appointed as Grand Prelate of the Grand Commandery of Texas serving with Past Grand Commander Paul D. Warren in 1995-96. He was honored with the Knight Templar Cross of Honor in 1996.

He was elected to the Grand Commandery line as Eminent Grand Sentinel in 1997, as Eminent Grand Warder in 1998, as Eminent Grand Sword Bearer in 1999, as Eminent Grand Standard Bearer in 2000, as Eminent Grand Junior Warder in 2001, as Eminent Grand Senior Warden in 2002, as Eminent Grand Captain General in 2003, as Eminent Grand Generalissimo in 2004, as Very Eminent Deputy Grand Master in 2005, and as the Right Eminent Grand Commander in 2006. Glen was presented with the Knight Commander of the Temple award on April 24, 2006.

He became a member of the Llano Estacado Conclave Red Cross of Constantine in 1989 and served as Puissant Sovereign in 2004.

He was ordained into Nazareth Tabernacle No. XXXIV Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests in 1995 will serve as Very Eminent Preceptor in 2009.

Glen was invested with the Order of Knight of York in Heart of Texas York Rite College in 1989 and served as Pre-Eminent Governor in 1995. He received the Order of the Purple Cross and was made an Associate Regent of the Sovereign College in Chicago, Illinois in 1996.

He became a Charter Member of the Libertas Council #83 Knight Masons in 2004. He also became a Charter Member of the West Texas Council #438 of the Allied Masonic Degrees in 2005.

He received the Scottish Rite degrees in 1988 and became a member of Waco Valley Scottish Rite Bodies. Glen served as President of the Big Country Scottish Rite Club in 2004. He was honored with the Knight Commander Court of Honor in 2005.

Glen became a Noble of Maskat Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S., in 1973 and later transferred to Suez Shrine Temple. He is a member of the Abilene Shrine Club.
