Paul was initiated an Entered Apprentice Mason in Abilene Masonic Lodge No. 559 on January 8, 1970, and raised a Master Mason on October 31,1970. Appointed Junior Steward in June 1971, elected Junior Warden in June 1972, Senior Warden 1973 and Worshipful Master in June 1974, Served as Master 1974-1975. Presented a Life Membership 1977, Endowed Membership 1987. Paul took his first certificate exam in Lodge in May 1971 and was issued a Life Certificate in 1997. Served as District Deputy for J.M. (Jimmy Willson) Masonic District 75 in 1982. Served as area coordinator for the Grand Masters Conference starting with Jack Kelly in 1986 at present time for Grand Master Mike Gower 1999, all years in between with the exception of two years. Appointed Grand Representative to Nevada in 1994 by Grand Master Robert Walker. Appointed by Walker as a member of Grand Lodge committee on Grievances and Appeals #2 in 1994 serving on committee at present time. Presented the Golden Trowel Award in Abilene Lodge 559 on April 22,2000.

Paul was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Abilene Chapter 159 on March 16,1971. Served as High Priest in 1977, received the Order of High Priesthood in Dec 1977. Served as Grand High Priest in the order in 1994. Served as District Deputy Grand High Priest, Capitular District 30 in 1984 and 1989. Endowed Membership 1986. Appointed Grand Representative to Queensland in 1988. Served on Recognitions, Honors and Awards Committee and Purposes and Policies Committee for Grand Chapter. Obituary

Paul D. Warren, 78, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 in Abilene. Visitation will be 7 till 9 PM, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral will be 10 AM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Roy Keith.

Paul was born May 7, 1933 in Elys, Kentucky to Sampson and Mary Warren. He graduated from Knox Central High School in Barbourville, Kentucky and joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation. He married Marilyn Jones in 1957 in Abilene where they began their family and were lifelong residents. He began working as a milkman before becoming an officer with the Abilene Police Department in 1961 where he served until his retirement in 1992 after 30 years and 5 months of service to the Abilene Community.

Paul was initiated an Entered Apprentice Mason in Abilene Masonic Lodge No. 559 on January 8, 1970 and raised a Master Mason October 31, 1970. He held many offices and served in many capacities throughout the years. Presently he held the office of Deputy Grand Master of The Grand Council of Texas and was to be installed as Grand Master of The Grand Council of Texas in October.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Valerie Dickens and husband Steve of San Angelo, Vickie Ray and husband Sam of North Richland Hills; one son, Virgil Warren of Merkel; five grandchildren, Michael and wife Dawn Dickens, Leanne Dickens, Phillip and wife Shelly Dickens, Melinda and husband Kyle Jones, Matthew Ray; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Kaden, Parker, Addison; one sister, Marie Hensley; two brothers, Dana Warren, Claude Warren; sister-in-law, Barbara Warren; brother-in-law, Larry Ball; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Pallbearers for the service will be Glen McCandless, Jerry Pingle, Charlie Martin, Rick Trogden, Hubert Smith, Lewis Williams and two honoraries, Lonnie Boggs and Mac Crowder.
