Wayne D. Groce became a Master Mason in Houston in 1979, he was later transferred to Midland and is a Past Master of Midland Lodge No. 623. He served the Grand Lodge of Texas as District Deputy Grand Master in 1996, and is a member of the Sam Houston Hall of Fame in Waco.
Wayne became a York Rite Masons in Houston in 1980, he was later transferred to Midland and is a Past High Priest of Keystone Chapter No. 178, Royal Arch Masons, a Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Keystone Council No. 112, Royal and Select Masters, and a Past Commander of Midland Commandery No. 84, Knights Templar. He has served the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas as Grand Master of the First Veil, Grand Master of the Second Veil, and Grand Orator. He served the Grand Council of Royal and Select Master of Texas as the Grand Captain of the Guards. He has also served as both District Deputy Grand High Priest and District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Chapter and Grand Council. He is a member of the Order of High Priesthood and the Order of the Silver Trowel. He received the Super Excellent Master’s Degree in Houston. He is the Grand Representative of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Missouri near the Grand Chapter of Texas, the Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Iowa near the Grand Council of Texas, and is the Grand Representative of the Grand Commandery of Tennessee near the Grand Commandery of Texas. He was elected to the Grand Commandery line in 1994 and progressed through the line serving as Right Eminent Grand Commander in 2002-2003. He is a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honour and is a Past Prior of Texas Priory No. 23, in Waco. He received the Knight Commander of the Temple award from the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar in 2004. He is a Past Governor of West Texas York Rite College No. 36, in Lubbock and received the Order of the Purple Cross in 1998. He has served the York Rite Sovereign College of North America as a Deputy Grand Governor in Texas for 2012 to 2016.
Wayne became a Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Houston in 1980, he was later transferred to Midland and became a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Lubbock. He is a Past Venerable Master of Lubbock Scottish Rite. He serves as a Class Director for the Reunions and is a member of the 27th Degree team. He was invested with the Knight Commander of the Court of Honor.
Wayne is a Past Sovereign of the Permian Conclave, Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine in Midland. He is a Past Preceptor of Nazareth Tabernacle, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests in San Angelo. He served as Preceptor of the Texas Chapter of the Sovereign Order of Knights Preceptor in 2002-2003. He is a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Suez Shrine in San Angelo, a member of the National Sojourners and the Heroes of 76. He is a Past Chief of the Knight Masons. He is a member of the Allied Masonic Degrees and the Royal Order of Scotland.
