He is member of Woodway First United Methodist Church where he has served on the Administrative Board and as Sunday School Superintendent. He is an active member of the Sanctuary Choir and the Adult Hand Bell Ensemble.
He has served as Assistant Scoutmaster, Scouting Coordinator, and Unit Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. He is a Life member of the Association of the United States Navy and the Disable Veterans of America. He is a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and is a Past President of George Erath Chapter. He is the Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Hewitt, Texas.
He was raised a Master Mason in North Sea Armed Forces Lodge No. 829, AF & AM, Bremerhaven, Germany in May 1967. He affiliated with Panther City Lodge No. 1183, Fort Worth, Texas in 1969. He served as Worshipful Master in 1972-73, and Served as District Deputy Grand Master in 1984.
He was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Texas Chapter No. 321 in Fort Worth, Texas in November 1972. He affiliated with Tyler Chapter No. 24 in Tyler, Texas in 1974, and served as High Priest in 1979-80. He served as Grand Senior Steward of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas in 1981, Grand Royal Arch Captain in 1996, and District Deputy Grand High Priest in 1981. He received the Order of High Priesthood in 1979.

He received the degrees of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Memphis, TN in Frankfort, Germany in May 1967, He affiliated with the Dallas Bodies in 1969 and later a charter member of the Fort Worth Bodies. He latter affiliated the the Waco Bodies in 1979. He is the holder of the honor of 32 degree, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor. He served as General Secretary in 2009.
He was initiated in Moslah Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Fort Worth, Texas in Heidelberg, Germany in May 1967. He affiliated with Sharon Temple in Tyler, Texas in 1979 and was President of the Sharif Unit. In 1980, he affiliated with Karem Temple and served as President of the Clown unit in 1984.
