Was born at Greenville, Hunt County, Texas, on April 5, 1898. The family later moved to Denison, Texas, where he was reared. He is a carpenter by trade; and after living in several different places, he now lives in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he is Construction Superintendent at the Oso Naval Air Base.
He is a member of the First Baptist Church, Corpus Christi. Was baptized in Calvary Baptist Church, Denison, Texas, on October 2, 1921.
Raised a Master Mason in Vernon Lodge No. 655, A. F. & A. M., on November 25, 1920. He later affiliated with Gate City Lodge No. 11, Raton, New Mexico. He is now a member of Corpus Christi Lodge No. 189, Corpus Christi.
Exalted in Raton Chapter No. 6, Raton, New Mexico, on April 25, 1925. Later affiliated with Perham Chapter No. 91, at Corpus Christi. Was High Priest in 1946. Grand Junior Steward in 1953. He was elected Grand King in 1957, Deputy Grand High Priest in 1958. He became Acting Grand High Priest on April 1, 1959, upon the death of the Grand High Priest, M:E:Companion Wallace McKenzie. He was elected and installed M:E:Grand High Priest on December 1, 1959, and presided at the Annual Convocation in December, 1960. He has received the Order of High Priesthood. Was Grand High Priest of the Grand Council of Annointed High Priests of Texas in 1954. He is the Grand Representative of the Grand Chapter of Alabama, near the Grand Chapter of Texas.
Greeted in Perham Council No. 55, R.&S.M., Corpus Christi, on June 4, 1942. Was Thrice Illustrious Master in 1947. Was Grand Captain of the Guards in 1949. Was elected Illustrious Grand Principal Conductor of the Work in 1953, and after serving in the usual stations, was elected and installed Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas on December 6, 1955. He has received the Order of the Silver Trowel. He is Grand Representative of the Grand Council of Delaware, near the Grand Council of Texas.
He is Past Commander of Corpus Christi Commandery No. 57.
He is a member of Nazareth Tabernacle No. 34, H.R.A.K.T.P., at San Angelo.
He is a member of Corpus Christi Chapter No. 354, O.E.S.
